show Abstracthide Abstract
Sequence, assembly and functional annotation of the male specific region of the Y chromosome. The assembly will be used to understand the evolution, gene content, and function of the Y in mammals. This fills an important gap in the horse genome which is based on a female. The project will enable the identification of genetics factors involved in stallion fertility and Y-linked phenotypes.
